Seated between high cliffs, which act as a kind of natural belvedere, Ribeira de Ilhas Beach area is further north of the town of Ericeira, located about 3.5 kilometers from the Centre of the village. The Ribeira d'ilhas beach is inseparable from the phenomenon of wave in general sports and surf privately. Famous for being the scene of evidence of the world tour of surfing, is the real "Cathedral" being still mode Portuguese considered one of the best in Europe for this practice, which was publicly consecrated by assigning the status of "World Surfing Reserves", on par with other beaches in the municipality of Mafra. To reinforce this sports tourism potential the City Council is developing an extensive reclassification action, turning it into a veritable thematic Beach, equipped with the most modern equipment. Just A few meters from the beach is located the Ericeira Camping, which is distinguished by the range of services within the camping and caravanning. Guarded beach with lifeguard and SOS system.
